PA Medical Home Initiative for Parents

Guidelines for communicating

1.      The golden rule:  Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

2.      Think about what you say before you say it.

3.      Keep an open mind.  Practice understanding and acceptance.  Remember that you are talking with real people who have real feelings.

4.      We strongly recommend that you do not post personal information (like your email address, etc.)

5.      Remember that new members are essential to keep any group from stagnating.  Please be welcoming and hospitable.

6.      Stay on-topic.  If you have a question or comment that doesn’t fit in any of the groups or forums, please start a group or forum! J  This makes the site more searchable and organized for all members.

Community Standards

Our communities are not moderated.  Please notify a network administrator if you see activity that does not abide by community standards.

1.      Please refrain from identifying specific health care practices or health care practitioners by name.

2.      Please refrain from making ad hominem statements.  An “ad hominem” argument consists of replying to a factual claim by attacking or appealing to a characteristic or belief of the person making the argument or claim, rather than by addressing the substance of the argument or producing evidence against the claim (for example, calling someone an “idiot”).

3.      No selling, no spamming, no phishing, no chain letters, no posts by members promoting products or services from which they will profit financially, no asking for money, no behavior that is intended to be misleading.

4.      No use of expletives or hate speech.

5.      Debate is okay.  Personal attacks, threats, harassment, are NOT okay.

6.      Do not infringe on copyrighted material.

7.       These community standards may be revised at any time.

Disciplinary actions

1.      The PA Medical Home Initiative reserves the right to remove any content that violates community standards.

2.      The PA Medical Home Initiative reserves the right to temporarily or permanently ban members from the site if they violate community standards.  Except in extreme cases, the member will receive a warning first.
