Hi All!
I am a parent of a 14 year old son with cp. I live in Chester County, and my son is currently a student in the MDS class at Unionville Elementary. Prior to that the program was at Penn London Elementary. I just posted a blog about my son and mediation with our school district (West Chester). I am looking for other Chester County parents of kids with cp, and developmental delays, especially those who are unaware of the 2 MDS classes that exist in the county. They are another alternative to the CDC, and school districts may not be making parents aware of this choice. Looking forward to helping out any way I can!

Oh okay-Gabrielle is in Kerri's class-she is finishing up her 2nd year there-and she loves it! Where will Kevin be going for school next? Does Kyle have any disabilities? Gabrielle's twin brother daniel does not.

Hi Debbie - my name is Veronica, I live in Lincoln Univ, I also have twins Kevin & Kyle, they are 5yrs old. Kevin has CP along with other disabilities and also attends First Step. He is in Joyce Ryans class.

Hello-My name is debbi and live in oxford,pa and i have twins-daniel and gabrielle--they were born at 27 weeks and daniel weighed 1 pound 14 ounces and Gabrielle weighed 1 pound. They are now 4 1/2 and Gabrielle has CP-she currently goes to First Step preschool in West chester and loves it. Just looking to chat with other parents of kids with CP in the area.

Yes of course he could do the Bowling. Our asst coach for Basketball is also the bowling coach . We start the first weekend after Labor Day and it runs up until about the middle of November. A wonderful group of kids and a few from Avon Grove ..as it gets closer , I will let you know the start date and details .. We have a little girl that is in a wheel chair for bowling and she loves it !!! We wont be at Coatesville , we will be in Kutztown on Saturday for the Eastern Sectionals. Some Sunday he should come watch the kids practice BBall and get to know the group ..its basically the same one that does bowling .. would be great to have your son along !!

Great to meet you. I am in Avon Grove School district, and not far from the high school. My son is in a wheelchair, would he be able to join in on the bowling league? He is 7 years old? That's is so awesome about your boys and basketball. Congrats. Will you be going to be Special Olympics on Monday at the Coatesville HS?

We are in Southern Chester County area ... Both my boys play on the Special Olympics Basketball that meets at Avon Grove High School on Sundays. We are mid way through the season, having the Eastern Sectionals this coming weekend. The team always makes the Summer games held at Penn State in State College. In Sept we start bowling at the Oxford Lanes in Oxford PA ....wonderful organization ..it helps my kids tremendously .. !!

I am in Allegheny Co, outside of Pgh, PA. Sarah attends an Allegheny Valley school - Colfax Upper Elementary. I would really love to find Special Olympics - what a nice photo of your son! He's a cutie!!! I am glad that we found this website, too! Have a great day!!!

Hey there, it isi 4/27 Monday !! This is for Chester County schools, I guess are you Chester County. My son goes to Avon Grove and he is going with his school. We went last year and had a blast. He is in 1st grade and he is in a Wheel chair. Actually, this picture is of him at Special Olympics last year. What school does your daughter attend? Have a great day. I am so glad that I found this website !!
