Hi Annie,
I wanted to say hello from one mom to another of trached kiddos. We have three kids with trachs and one on a vent too. We love the trachs and feel very comfortable with the trachs.. I gotta say it actually is easier with the trachs than our kids without them as we always have an airway. Would love to talk more.

Do either of you (or anyone else) have any suggestions about resources (people, organizations, websites, articles) that can help parents get more comfortable with trachs when they are first put in? This question comes up a lot at different practices I visit because many parents seem to find the idea of managing the trach at home intimidating. What can doctors have on hand to make this easier?

www.tracheostomy.com is a great site for valuable information- there is also a message board for parents to ask/answer each others questions mostly from a parent point of view. (www.tracheostomy.com/forum
